NTU participates in the international BIO-INTEL-MOB project under the Horizon Europe programme
A new page in international scientific cooperation is beginning for the National Transport University. NTU has become a participant in the BIO-INTEL-MOB project, which is being implemented under the Horizon Europe programme.
On 20–21 January 2026, the kick-off meeting of the BIO-INTEL-MOB project took place in Rome, officially marking the start of its implementation. The event was organised by the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome and brought together consortium partners, pilot cities and representatives of the European Commission.
About BIO-INTEL-MOB project
BIO-INTEL-MOB aims to develop smart, sustainable and climate-neutral suburban mobility. The project integrates mobility data spaces, artificial intelligence-based analytics, digital twins, suburban mobility hubs, environmentally friendly routes and circular logistics solutions to create efficient transport services for both people and goods.
Project coordinator: Sapienza University of Rome (Italy)
Partners: 32 organisations from 13 countries
Duration: 42 months
Official project website: https://bio-intel-mob.eu/

NTU participation in the kick-off meeting
The following representatives of the National Transport University took part in the kick-off meeting:
– Olga Kunytska, Professor of the Department of Transport Systems and Road Safety;
– Daria Chekh, postgraduate student of the same department, deputy head of the transport modelling department of the The communal enterprise “Traffic Management Center”.
During the meeting, the project vision, management structure, roles of partners and initial roadmap for the implementation of innovative solutions were agreed upon.

The role of NTU and Kyiv in the project
In the BIO-INTEL-MOB project, the National Transport University represents Kyiv in conjunction with the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, which is an associated partner of the project.
Within the framework of BIO-INTEL-MOB, Kyiv demonstrates the scalability of the project’s solutions and offers a unique perspective on the implementation of sustainable mobility in a post-conflict context. The main tasks of NTU are:
– adapting innovative BIO-INTEL-MOB solutions to conditions of limited data availability;
– taking into account the increased accessibility needs of people with reduced mobility;
– testing the developed solutions for transferability and the possibility of implementation in other cities.

NTU’s participation in the BIO-INTEL-MOB project highlights the university’s active role in developing European approaches to sustainable mobility and Ukraine’s integration into the EU’s scientific and innovation space.
