National Transport University held a meeting of Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine

On March 29, 2019, National Transport University held a meeting of Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, with faculty staff and students.

Volodymyr Omelyan spoke about the initiated reforms and the opportunities for their consolidation in Ukraine. The issues of privatization of state-owned companies and motorways, railways and air transport, as well as the problem of corruption in the public sector were discussed.

“We require changes, new points of view. We are not afraid of mistakes,”- proclaimed Volodymyr Omelyan at the meeting. He believes that participation of youth in the efforts to reform the country and recruitment of young specialists for work in state agencies will contribute to such changes.

The meeting showed the students’ interest in the activities of the Ministry. They actively asked questions concerning prospects of the infrastructure.

At the end of the meeting, Volodymyr Omelyan invited the students to undertake an internship at the Ministry of Infrastructure in order to make sure that the reforms are being implemented and have some results.

The Minister also visited scientific and educational laboratories and centers of the University.
