Biography
She was born on May 16, 1971 in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region. In 1988 she graduated Kyiv secondary school № 39 in Kyiv.
In 1993, Olena Slavinska graduated from the Kyiv Automobile and Highway Institute (current National Transport University) with a degree in “Construction of roads and airfields”, professional qualification – civil engineer.
From 1995 to 1999, she did a post-graduate course at Ukrainian Transport University (current National Transport University).
She has been working at the National Transport University since 1999 at the Department of Road Construction and Operation as an Assistant Lecturer, then Associate Professor.
In 2000, she defended her Candidate of Science dissertation on ‘Models and methods for calculating internal flows taking into account the anisotropy of open turbulent flows’ having specialized in 01.02.05 – mechanics of liquid, gas and plasma – at National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
In 2002, she received the academic title of Associate professor of the Department of Road Construction and Operation.
From 2003 to 2006, she studied part-time in doctoral studies at the Department of Road Construction and Operation.
In 2006, Olena Slavinska was winner of the President of Ukraine Award for Young Scientists for her science work: ¢New monitoring systems and methods for predicting the development of internal currents, general and local erosion, transfer of impurities in natural watercourses¢.
In 2009, she defended her doctoral dissertation at the National Transport University, specialty 05.22.11 – highways and airfields, the topic of the dissertation: ¢Theory and methods of forecasting erosion in the area of influence of bridge crossings¢.
From 2009 to May 2021, she worked as the Dean of the Faculty of Road Construction, from September 1, 2014 – Dean of the Faculty of Transport Construction.
Since 2010, Olena Slavinska is Professor of the Department of Road Construction and Operation.
From September 2014 to February 2017, she was the Head of the Department of Production and Property Management. From 2017 to the present, he works part-time as a professor at the Department of Transport Construction and Property Management.
Research interests
Modern methods of forecasting erosion in the area of influence of hydraulic structures; methods of design, construction and operation of drainage systems on highways; research of methodological bases of land and real estate valuation in the road transport industry.
Olena Slavinska is the author of more than 200 scientific and methodical works, including 4 monographs and 15 textbooks, and she is the developer of state and industry regulations of Ukraine
