Oleksandr Kazymyrovych Gryshchuk

The holder of Excellence in Education of Ukraine Lapel Badge and Petro Mohyla Lapel Badge, Academician of the Transport Academy of Ukraine.
He was born on March 31, 1957. After finishing Kyiv secondary school №16 he studied at the faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev. Oleksandr Hryshchuk studied automotive engineering at the Automobile Faculty of Kyiv Automobile and Highway Institute from which he graduated in 1984. From 1978 to 1980, he did military service.
In 1984, he worked as a probationer-researcher at the Department of Automobiles at Kyiv Automobile and Highway Institute (current National Transport University) where he was engaged in research work in the field of special purpose vehicles intended for work in difficult specific conditions (snow, ice, water, bog, water reservoir bottom etc).
From 1986 to 1990, he did a post-graduate course at KAHI. In 1992, he defended his Candidate of Science dissertation on ‘Improving Structural Parameters of the Rotary-Screw Propulsion in Special Purpose Vehicles’ having specialized in 05.05.03 – automobiles and tractors – at Belarusian Polytechnic Academy.
From 1990 to 1993, he worked as a research fellow, a senior research fellow at KAHI research department.
He combined research with teaching. In 1990, he started to teach at the Department of Automobiles as Assistant Lecture, then Associate Professor. Since 2009, he has been working as Professor at National Transport University.
From 1992 to 1994, he worked as a part-time leading research fellow at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Standardization, Certification and Informatics, where he was engaged in working out State standards in the field of motor vehicle design and motor transport. He is a SАЕ member.
From 2003 to 2013, Oleksandr Hryshchuk worked as the Secretary of Admissions Committee. From 2007 to 2008, he worked as the Deputy First Vice-Rector.
Oleksandr Hryshchuk combines teaching at the Department of Tourism with research.
He supervises full-time and part-time post-graduate students. In addition to more than 100 publications he has a few patents, certificates for inventions as well as certificates of copyright registration.
His key research interests lie in efficient bus design, special purpose vehicles, transport for tourism and problems of higher education methodology.
